Update as of Friday March 5th 2021
As of March 5, 2021, Canada has a total of 878,391 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 310,165 cases with Toronto having over 98,497 cases.
--- 1,250 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Ontario today, 22 more deaths --- Ontario is reporting more than 1,200 new cases of COVID-19 today, the highest daily case count logged over the past week.

Update as of Thursday March 4th 2021
As of March 4, 2021, Canada has a total of 875,559 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 304,757 cases with Toronto having over 98,192 cases.
​--- Ontario reports 994 new COVID-19 cases and 10 more deaths --- Ontario reported 994 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday and 10 additional deaths, as public health laboratories confirmed their largest count of additional cases involving variants of concern to date.

As of March 3, 2021, Canada has a total of 872,747 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 303,763 cases with Toronto having over 97,931 cases.
--- Ontario logs 958 new COVID-19 cases; death toll surpasses 7,000 --- Ontario’s COVID-19 death toll has surpassed 7,000 on Wednesday, as the province is reporting less than 1,000 new infections. Provincial health officials logged 958 new infections and 17 additional deaths today.

Update as of Monday March 1st 2021
As of March 1, 2021, Canada has a total of 868,139  confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 301,839 cases with Toronto having over 96,363 cases.
--- Ontario reports 1, 023 new cases of COVID-19, 6 more deaths --- The province logged just over 1, 000 new cases of the virus today, along with six more virus-related deaths. This is the lowest single-day death toll reported since last October.

As of February 26th, 2021, Canada has a total of 860,293 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 298,569 cases with Toronto having over 96,363 cases.
--- Ontario reports more than 1,200 new COVID-19 cases; no new Long-Term Care deaths for first time in 4 months --- The province reported 1,258 new cases of the virus today, along with 28 additional deaths.

Update as of Thursday February 25th 2021
As of February 25th, 2021, Canada has a total of 857,423 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 297,311 cases with Toronto having over 96,363 cases.
--- Ontario reports more than 1, 100 new cases of COVID-19, 23 more deaths --- The province is reporting 1,138 new cases of the virus today, which has increased the seven-day average. The province’s rolling seven-day average of new cases now stands at 1,098, up from 1,016 this time last week.

As of February 24th, 2021, Canada has a total of 852,269 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 295,119 cases with Toronto having over 95,640 cases.
--- North Yorkers currently in suspected outbreak of COVID-19 ---  As of this week, a suspected outbreak of COVID-19 has been declared at North Yorkers for Disabled Persons by Toronto Public Health.  At this time, we are taking every precaution possible to reduce the risk of transmission between residents and staff.

Update as of Tuesday February 23rd 2021
As of February 23rd, 2021, Canada has a total of 851,443 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 295,119 cases with Toronto having over 95,640 cases.
--- Ontario logs less than 1,000 new COVID-19 cases, 12 more deaths --- The province is reporting 975 new infections today, marking the first time in nearly one week where the daily case count dipped below 1,000.

Update as of Monday February 22nd 2021
As of February 22nd, 2021, Canada has a total of 847,542 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 294,144 cases with Toronto having over 94,943 cases.
--- Ontario logs 1,058 new cases of COVID-19 today, 11 more deaths --- The province is reporting 1,058 cases of the virus today, which marks the fifth day in a row that the count has been greater than 1,000 in Ontario.

Update as of Friday February 19th 2021
As of February 19th, 2021, Canada has a total of 839,447 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 290,771 cases with Toronto having over 93,850 cases.
--- Stay-at-home order remains in effect for Toronto and Peel, York Region to enter “red zone” ---  Today the province announced that Toronto and Peel Region will remain under a stay-at-home order for at least another two weeks, but some restrictions will be eased in York Region next week.

Update as of Thursday February 18th 2021
As of February 18th, 2021, Canada has a total of 836,316 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 289,621 cases with Toronto having over 93,455 cases.
--- Ontario reports 1,038 new cases of COVID-19, 44 more deaths --- The province is reporting 1,038 new COVID-19 infections today and over 40 virus-related deaths.  Today’s case count is the highest in four days, as previously in the week case counts in the province were under 1, 000.

Update as of Tuesday February 16th 2021
As of February 16th, 2021, Canada has a total of 829,461 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 287,736 cases with Toronto having over 92,858 cases. 
--- Ontario reports 904 new COVID-19 cases today, restrictions eased in most regions --- Health officials say that the province reported fewer than 1, 000 new COVID-19 cases on both Monday and Tuesday as daily case counts continue to trend downward.

As of February 12th, 2021, Canada has a total of 819,547 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 283,587 cases with Toronto having over 92,036 cases.
--- Ontario moves 27 regions from stay-at-home order to reopening framework on Feb. 16th --- The Ontario government will allow 27 regions to transition into the province’s colour-coded reopening framework on Tuesday, Feb. 16th.

As of February 11th, 2021, Canada has a total of 816,050 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 282,511 cases with Toronto having over 91,368 cases.
--- Ontario reports 945 new cases of COVID-19 but Toronto Public Health underreported --- The province has reported under 1,000 cases today, but more issues due to the migration of Toronto Public Health data to the provincial system has resulted in another under-estimation.

As of February 10th, 2021, Canada has a total of 811,869 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 281,566 cases with Toronto having over 90,965 cases.
--- Ontario reports 1,072 new COVID-19 cases, 41 more deaths --- The province is reporting 1,072 new cases of COVID-19 today, which continues a downward trend of new infections.

As of February 9th, 2021, Canada has a total of 810,166 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 280,494 cases with Toronto having over 90,965 cases.
--- Ontario reports just over 1, 000 new cases of COVID-19, 17 more deaths --- The province is reporting 1,022 new cases of the virus today, which is one of the lowest daily case counts logged in over two months.

Update as of Monday February 8th 2021
As of February 8th, 2021, Canada has a total of 805,525 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 279,472 cases with Toronto having over 90,192 cases.
--- Ontario reports 1, 265 new cases of COVID-19, testing rates drop by 45 percent --- The province is reporting 1,265 new cases of the virus today, along with 33 additional deaths. Testing rates fell more than 45 percent in the past 24 hours, which has been common after a weekend.

As of February 5th, 2021, Canada has a total of 795,334 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 275,330 cases with Toronto having over 88,553 cases (Toronto Public Health has halted its reporting). 
--- Ontario reports 1,670 new COVID-19 infections, but extra Toronto cases resulted in overestimation of count --- The province is reporting close to 1,700 new cases of COVID-19, however it is warning of an overestimation due to additional cases reported by Toronto Public Health.

As of February 4th, 2021, Canada has a total of 792,380 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 273,660 cases with Toronto having over 87,969 cases (Toronto Public Health has halted its reporting). 
--- Ontario reports 1, 563 new COVID-19 cases and 88 deaths, test positivity falls to lowest point in months --- The province reported close to 1, 600 new cases of COVID-19 today, as well as 88 more virus-related deaths.

As of February 3rd, 2021, Canada has a total of 786,417 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 270,925 cases with Toronto having over 87,644 cases (Toronto Public Health has halted its reporting). 
--- Ontario reports 1,172 new COVID-19 cases, 67 more deaths --- The province has reported 1,172 new infections of COVID-19 today, however the accuracy of this data is not entirely assured, as there is an ongoing effort between Toronto Public Health (TPH) and 
the Ontario government to reconcile data.

As of February 2nd, 2021, Canada has a total of 785,493 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 270,925 cases with Toronto having 87,644 cases.
--- Ontario reports 745 new COVID-19 cases, excluding Toronto Public Health numbers --- The province is reporting just 745 new infections of COVID-19 today, but today’s case count does not include numbers from Toronto Public Health because of an ongoing data clean-up.

As of January 29th, 2021, Canada has a total of 769,408 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 264,300 cases with Toronto having 84,653 cases. 
--- New cases of COVID-19 dip below 2,000 threshold, Ontario reports 58 additional deaths --- The number of new cases of COVID-19 has dipped back below 2,000 after a one-day increase on Thursday, which marks the resumption of the downward trend in the province.

As of January 27th, 2021, Canada has a total of 760,020 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 260,370 cases with Toronto having 83,474 cases. 
--- Ontario records lowest number of new COVID-19 cases in more than two months with less than 1,700 infections --- The COVID-19 case numbers in Ontario have dropped to levels that have not been seen in over two months, as there were 1, 670 new cases reported today.

As of January 26th, 2021, Canada has a total of 754,751 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 258,700 cases with Toronto having 82,790 cases. 
--- Ontario reports more than 1, 700 COVID-19 cases, 63 more deaths --- There were over 30,700 tests processed in the last 24 hours, and the province’s positivity rate is now 5.9 percent, compared to 5.5 percent on Monday.

As of January 22nd, 2021, Canada has a total of 734,113 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 250,226 cases with Toronto having 80,541 cases.
