Update as of Friday January 15th 2021
As of January 15th, 2021, Canada has a total of 688,891 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 231,308 cases with Toronto having 73,675 cases.
--- Ontario records just under 3,000 new infections, 100 more COVID-19-related deaths --- The province is recording a spike in the number of people who have died due to COVID-19, as Ontario reports 2,998 new cases of the virus.

Update as of Thursday January 14th 2021
As of January 14th, 2021, Canada has a total of 686,786 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 228,310 cases with Toronto having 72,679 cases.
--- Ontario reports 3,326 new COVID-19 cases, 62 more deaths --- The province is reporting over 3,300 new cases of COVID-19 today, as the provincial stay-at-home order comes into effect.

Update as of Wednesday January 13th 2021
As of January 13th, 2021, Canada has a total of 677,434 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 224,984 cases with Toronto having 71,923 cases.
--- Ontario logs close to 3,000 new COVID-19 cases, 74 more deaths --- The province is reporting 2,961 new cases of COVID-19 today, which is nearly 1,000 less than the record 3,945 cases confirmed on Jan. 10th.

Update as of Tuesday January 12th 2021
As of January 12th, 2021, Canada has a total of 673,018 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 222,023 cases with Toronto having 71,078 cases. 
--- Ontario reports 2,903 new COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations up 180 in one day --- The province is reporting more than 2,900 new COVID-19 cases along with 41 more deaths. Provincial labs processed 44, 800 tests in the last 24 hours, with another 43,100 awaiting 
processing.

Update as of Monday January 11th 2021
As of January 11th, 2021, Canada has a total of 663,627 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 219,120 cases with Toronto having 70,127 cases. 
--- Ontario’s COVID-19 death toll surpasses 5,000, province sets new record for hospitalizations --- Today, the province is reporting 3,338 new infections of COVID-19. A new record for most cases reported in a single day was set on Sunday, with 3,945 cases logged and no backlogs were accounted for.

Update as of Friday January 8th 2021
As of January 8, 2021, Canada has a total of 639,383 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 208,394 cases with Toronto having 66,417 cases. 
--- Ontario breaks another single-day record of COVID-19 infections --- The province broke another record on Friday, recording more than 4,200 new cases of COVID-19.

Update as of Thursday January 7th 2021
As of January 7, 2021, Canada has a total of 630,319 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 204,145 cases with Toronto having 65,521 cases.
--- Ontario breaks COVID-19 records with more than 3,500 new cases, 89 deaths --- The province is reporting 3,519 new cases of COVID-19 today. This is a new record for Ontario, and a significant increase from the 3,266 infections logged one day earlier.

Update as of Wednesday January 6th 2021
As of January 6, 2021, Canada has a total of 625, 051 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 200,626 cases with Toronto having 65,521 cases.
--- Ontario reports more than 3,000 new COVID-19 cases, 37 more deaths ---
The province is reporting more than 3,000 new cases of COVID-19 for a third consecutive day, with 3,266 new infections recorded today. The seven-day rolling average now stands at 3,113 compared to 2,309 one week ago.

Update as of Tuesday January 5th 2021
As of January 5, 2021, Canada has a total of 614,552 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 197,360 cases with Toronto having 63,946 cases.
​--- Ontario reports another 3,100+ COVID-19 cases; hospitalizations hit all-time high --- The province is reporting 3,128 new COVID-19 cases, along with 51 new deaths on Tuesday.

Update as of Monday January 4th 2021
As of January 4, 2021, Canada has a total of 604,923 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Ontario itself has 194,232 cases with Toronto having 63,003 cases.
--- Ontario logs more than 3,200 new cases, 29 more deaths --- The province has reported 3,270 new COVID-19 cases and 29 more deaths linked to the virus over the past 24 hours.  The highest number of cases reported in a single day in Ontario was seen on Saturday when 3,363 infections were recorded.
