Communication Enrichment Class Notice Re: COVID-19

NYDP Communication Enrichment Class is pleased to announce that class will be back in session starting Tuesday, Sep 12, 2023 and will be held virtually. If you need more information, you can contact Jessica. You may follow along with our discussion topics by clicking the button below. 
Any updates for class will be communicated to each participant, and will be posted here. North Yorkers continues to monitor the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic, and we will inform all participants when the class is ready to return in-person safely. Important Announcement
In our ongoing commitment to the health and safety of our residents, employees and visitors, we are reinstating our masking policy effective immediately. This decision is in regards to the 2023/2024 outbreak season being around the corner.
Additionally, all external visitors must sign in upon arrival. This includes providing contact information for potential contact tracing purposes.
We understand that this decision may be inconvenient, but our top priority is the well-being of the North Yorker’s community. We will continuously monitor the situation and adjust our policies as needed to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
In order to provide the public with more information on COVID-19 in these difficult times, our COVID-19 Weekly Updates will be posted every Friday. We aim to share the newest information about the virus and its effects in Ontario and beyond for all our readers.

Welcome to North Yorkers for Disabled Persons Inc. (NYDP)
NYDP is a non-profit charitable organization that provides 24-hour support services to persons with physical disabilities who require assistance in routine instrumental/activities of daily living (IADL/ADL). We are committed to enabling greater independence, dignity and communication facilitation to the consumers that are supported by North Yorkers. NYDP is funded by the Central LHIN and Ministry of Health and offers supportive housing, attendant services, communication enrichment programming, outreach communication facilitation, and information and referral services. NYDP is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.
We at North Yorkers for Disabled Persons acknowledge that the land in which we are located on is the traditional territory of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, Haudenosaunee and most recently the Mississaugas of the Credit River and is also now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. We also acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13, signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit. We recognize that truth and reconciliation is a continuous process and while this land acknowledgement is a crucial step, our organization has much more work to do.
