As we go through this difficult time in our world together, it is essential that North Yorkers for Disabled Persons Inc. and all of its stakeholders including staff and residents are in alignment with the strategies to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Please familiarize yourself with our current Pandemic Plan and understand the course of action North Yorkers for Disabled Persons Inc. is taking during the current COVID-19 pandemic.
The Pandemic Plan is divided into four steps:
Step 1: Prioritizing our agencies service functions and priorities
Step 2: Staffing Considerations
Step 3: Populating our Plan
Step 4: Defining our chain of command
On page 9 of our Pandemic Plan, you are provided with a Service Impact Matrix Chart. This chart indicates the level of service delivery that can be provided taking into consideration the level of absenteeism for front line staff and the percentage of consumers who must have service. This will identify what services we will be able to provide in the four emergency levels identified on page 8 (Green, Blue, Orange and Red).
Currently none of our residents or staff have identified as having any symptoms of COVID-19, and therefore we have a 0% absenteeism rate in staff. As defined on page 11, North Yorkers for Disabled Persons Inc. is operating at the BLUE level which means a full scope of services is currently available, however some non-essential services such as escort supports (banking, shopping trips and non-essential medical appointments) have been put on hold for the time being.
The management team is working hard to ensure optimal staffing levels based on Consumer need. We are constantly gathering information and providing all stakeholders with status updates to identify any new needs and pressures.
In the event that the emergency levels have changed, we will be sure to provide an update as promptly as possible.
